A new ESELA Working Group is being formed with the specific task of reviewing and providing input to national and European bodies on the development of legal frameworks and policies to support social enterprise.
One of the first objectives of the Working Group will be to review and debate the report recently launched by the European Social Enterprise Expert Group (GECES). This report recommended that the Commission publish an instrument known as a ‘recommendation’ to encourage and support member states to develop social enterprise laws. The Working Group will provide suggestions to the Commission on the possible content of the proposed recommendation to member states, drawing on the legal experience and perspectives of its members and available evidence.
The Working Group will be co-chaired by Katerina Hadzi-Miceva Evans, Executive Director of the European Center for Not for Profit Law and a board member of ESELA, and Julie Wynne, a partner at Froriep in Switzerland and also a board member of ESELA.
The Working Group is open to anyone with an interest in social enterprise policy in Europe.
